Who is this dog for?

My two daughters and myself.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
From the age of five until I was 18, my very best friend was our pwc Lady Samantha Duchess. She was a rescue: as a vet, my grandpa was asked to put a litter of puppies down that were attacked by a German Shepard. He spared my Sammy for me. She always tried to lift my mood and could even say she loved or missed me. She trained me as much as I tried to train her during my time with 4-H. I miss that love and comfort only a corgi seems to have. I have never encountered a breed I am more pleased, entertained, or comfortable with. I love the corgi personality, their loyalty to family, and the many hours of laughter from their character; from running rounds back and forth, to tipping backwards, and frapping in the snow, this breed has my heart. My heart hurts for many reasons, and I believe there is a corgi that needs me just the same out there.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Beyond my daughters playing with her/him, cuddling and tug of rope are of the up most importance with our Pembroke. We love spending time hiking and camping in good weather, bringing our pwc would be a must. If for some reason our corgi can't join, she/he can stay with Grandma and Bailey(pwc/heeler mix) until we return. Howling together is a must.

People at home during the day?
Half days during the week, and we are home all day on weekends.

Where would dog eat?
In the kitchen by our table, with us.

Where would dog sleep:
I would love to give her/him their own cozy bed, but I wouldn't be the least bit disappointed if she/he chose to sleep at my feet, by my side, or with my daughters.

Play & exercise:
Beyond me and my two kids playing soccer or randomly goofing around with her/him, we will take many walks on the cedar valley trail right out our front door. We will have playdates with two other families that have mixed corgi breeds a couple times a week. I plan to purchase good sturdy ropes and random toys she/he takes interest in on trips to the store. If she/he is older, play will be as much as they can keep up,

Current pets dog friendly?

Are you willing to work on it if your new dog doesn’t get along with your current pets right away?
I have actually spent a lot of time helping friends and neighbors introduce their shy dogs to other pets to ease the process. I have a friend with a heeler (Dixie Dog) that has been used for this social training quite often. Dixie dog has one of the mixed corgi pups we will be playing with first and, over my pwc's time, often.
