Who is this dog for?

Me

Why do you want a Pembroke?
I would love to adopt a Pembroke Welsh Corgi because they are very intelligent, and generally great around people. I am currently working towards my CPDT, and I am in search of a dog that would be able to graduate college with me as a therapy dog. I believe that this breed is a wonderful fit for me, and I think that they would make great therapy dogs. I have researched them in my Canine Genetics class in college.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
I would train my corgi every day, bring him or her to new places, and take them on many walks. My corgi would attend my college classes with me and interact with other students, and their dogs each day.

Will handle mistakes Pembroke makes like this:
I am going to school for positive reinforcement dog training, so there is never any punishment involved in training. If the Pembroke made a mistake, I would redirect him or her, and set them up for success to ensure it would not happen again.

Discipline:
I do not use any methods of discipline with dogs. If there is a problem, I would take it away from the dog and ensure that they are set up to be successful.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
My Pembroke would spend most of his or her time with me, either at classes or in my dorm room. We would be together very often, and I would do everything in my power to bring them with me everywhere I go that is dog-friendly.

House dog

People at home during the day?
When I am at school, the dog would be alone, but when I am home my dad is unemployed and would spend all of his time with him or her.

Where would dog eat?
In my dorm room outside of the cage.

Where would dog sleep:
The corgi would sleep in a dog bed or in bed with me, always in my sight.

Play & exercise:
My corgi would have numerous opportunities to exercise and play each day as I am in a program for dog training. All other students in my program have dogs as well, and the corgi would be able to interact with other dogs on a daily basis. As well as playing, I would take the corgi on a few walks each day and to stores and other places to train.
