Who is this dog for?

I wish to adopt an older dog as my companion.

Why do you want a Pembroke?
They make me laugh, they seem friendly and playful, and although I know they are active they always appear relaxed. I have been attracted to this breed since I was a child and saw Tasha Tudor's illustrations of her Corgis. I have done research and know that they are intelligent and independent thinkers, and also that they can be barkers and that they will need regular grooming. Also checked the price of grooming and I am okay with that.

Activities planned with Pembroke:
Daily walks, (which I prefer to the gym), throwing tennis balls and tug of war with toys. I like to hang out with my daughter and son-in-law when they go fishing and would definitely take my little buddy along to the river for wading the creeks, Also, my sister has beach property on the Gulf of Mexico and we spend time beach combing for shells. My buddy dog would love it.

I would tell him or let him know that he made a mistake and show him the correct behavior. In my experience dogs usually know when they do something wrong and a stern look or tone of voice is enough.

Discipline:
Rewards and treats for GOOOD behavior.

Where would Pembroke spend the majority of the time:
At home with me.
